Jerram Barrs
Jerram is Professor of Christian Studies and Contemporary Culture and Resident Scholar of the Francis A. Schaeffer Institute. Professor Barrs joined the seminary faculty in 1989 after 18 years with L'Abri Fellowship in England, where he also pastored in the International Presbyterian Church. His publications include Being Human, Shepherds and Sheep, Who Are the Peace-makers?, The Great Rescue, and The Heart of Evangelism, as well as the video series Building Up Bridges, Breaking Down Walls. He is completing a book on Women of the Word and an introduction to The Life and Writings of Francis Schaeffer. He received his BA from the University of Manchester (England) and Masters of Divinity at Covenant Theological Seminary.
Mark Ryan
Mark Ryan is a worker at the Bowen Island L’Abri in SW Canada. He has earned degrees in Biblical history, Theology, Apologetics, and Interdisciplinary studies. Mark has recently relocated from Southborough L’Abri in the USA where he served from 2001 to 2005. His interests cluster around helping people to know Christianity as a truthful, coherent and satisfying worldview. In this connection he has taught and lectured throughout the U.S. as well as in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the UK. Mark is married to Terri and together they have a son, Paul, and a daughter, Michelle. Having appeared on television twice and having been featured on radio twice, Mark is now devoting himself to the apologetic problem of why he has not once been invited to appear in a movie!
Andrew Fellows
Andrew is Canadian by birth but has lived in England for 22 years. He served as a pastor before coming to work at the English L'Abri 12 years ago. He is currently the director there where he lives with his wife, Helen and four children.
Dick and Mardi Keyes
Dick is the Director of L'Abri Fellowship in Southborough, Massachusetts, where he has worked with his wife and family since 1979. He holds a B.A. in History from Harvard University, and a Masters of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. Dick has worked for L'Abri Fellowship in Switzerland and in England, where he served also as a pastor in the International Presbyterian Church in London for eight years. He is the author of Beyond Identity, True Heroism, Chameleon Christianity and several chapters in anthologies.
Mardi graduated from Wellesley College with a degree in Biblical History. Shortly after, she married Dick Keyes, and in 1970, they moved to Europe to work with L'Abri. They spent six months in Switzerland, and eight and a half years in England. In 1979, the Keyes moved to Southborough, Massachusetts, where they opened the first residential branch of L'Abri in the United States. Mardi lectures on a variety of topics, including hospitality, the problem of evil, the family, children, adolescence, youth culture, the Christian mind, feminism and other gender issues. Mardi and Dick are the parents of three grown sons, and are now proud grandparents!
Tim & Alice Keyes
Tim is an ornithologist and environmentalist (who has spoken on the biblical environmental ethic at L'Abri conferences). Tim's wife Alice is also an environmentalist with expertise in water resources.
Jock and Alison McGregor
Jock and his wife Alison are staff members at Rochester L’Abri. They met at Swiss L’Abri and previously worked at English L’Abri for ten years. Jock has a Masters of Divinity from Regent College in Vancouver. He lectures widely on many topics that bear on the relationship between Christianity and contemporary culture.
Sue Morrell
After having grown up in the countryside of Western Australia, Sue moved to Perth and became a Registered Nurse. She worked in a teaching hospital for several years and then traveled to Britain to become a midwife. It was during that time of traveling in Europe and living in London that Sue became familiar with the work of L'Abri in Hampshire. Sue joined the staff in August 1987 and continued working there after she and Joe married in 1992. Joe and Sue moved to Southborough in 1995 where they now live with their two sons Luke and Nate.
